Named after Cyril Connolly’s book of sharp, humorous criticism of art and life, Condemned Playground was created in 2006 as a boutique of modestly funded, well-crafted films for theatrical release, TV and the web. In 2008, CP co-produced “Lalo” with Gas House Films. It won best short comedy at both the 2009 HBO NY International Latino Film Festival and the Downtown Film Festival (Los Angeles).
CP offers freelance writing for both film and non-fiction, script consultations, and, in some cases, production personnel. We seek creative partnerships with those who believe that sophisticated narratives and serious themes are commercially viable in the new global set-up. We have scripts for investment or sale, as well as two dynamic projects: the documentary series “I Love My People, But” (pilot episode completed); and “Love Is The Message- The Story Of The Philly Sound” (in development).
